Durante il secondo giorno del secondo campetto del cammino verso il Jamboree, i capi ci hanno detto che il giorno seguente il Capo-Contingente FIS sarebbe venuto a trovarci, perciò ci hanno chiesto di rendere perfette le nostre uniformi, togliendo i vecchi distintivi, ottenuti nelle precedenti esperienze scout.
E’ bello vedere come certe persone, noi compresi, siano attaccati ai propri distintivi, essendo questi ultimi ricordi di fantastiche esperienze di crescita personale e di momenti che si vive una sola volta.
Abbiamo svolto anche un’attività di servizio ambientale che consisteva nel migliorare la sede in cui siamo stati ospitati e il sentiero per raggiungerla attraverso il bosco, ammirando un paesaggio mozzafiato. 44 rover, impegnandosi al massimo delle loro forze, sono riusciti a creare un sentiero, aggiungendoci dei magnifici scalini nei punti più scoscesi, facendosi strada man mano che andavano più a valle con la scoppiettante motosega di Ciccio, il proprietario del terreno. Alla fine di questo servizio c’è sto un breve momento in cui, tramite dei fogli con parti di storia, abbiamo riflettuto, ognuno per conto proprio, sull’evoluzione del nostro pianeta.
L’attività serale è stata invece più rilassante, perché incentrata sulle sensazioni provate durante il servizio. L’atmosfera creata dalle candele accese che emanavano una luce soffusa, e dall’incenso ha allietato i nostri corpi, ma soprattutto le nostre menti, dopo una giornata abbastanza faticosa.
La stanchezza accumulata, infine, ha fatto si che al termine dell’attività ognuno si ritirasse nel proprio sacco a pelo per ricaricare le batterie da utilizzare il giorno seguente.
During the second day of the second camp on the road to the Jamboree, our leaders told us that the Head of the FIS Contingent would be meeting us the next day, and they therefore asked us to make our uniforms perfect by removing the old badges commemorating past scout experiences. It is beautiful to see how some people, including us, are so attached to their badges, these last mementos of fantastic experiences of personal growth and moments that only come once in a lifetime.
We also carried out an environmental service activity that consisted of improving both the site where we were staying and the path through the woods leading to it, admiring the breathtaking scenery as we did so. By giving their all, adding magnificent steps at the steepest points, and steadily making their way down towards the valley with Ciccio’s chainsaw chugging away, forty-four rovers managed to create a real path. When we had finished, we briefly took the time to individually reflect on the evolution of our planet.
That evening’s activity was more relaxing, focussing on the feelings we had experienced during the day’s work. The atmosphere created by the soft candlelight and incense soothed our bodies, and above all our minds, after a fairly arduous day. Finally, after the activity, the tiredness that had built up during the day led each of us to our sleeping bags to recharge our batteries for the next day…
